In 1740 He was a bright light along the road.
His voice would reach every colonial abode.
One could not walk about their home town,
Without hearing psalms being sung around.

25,000+ people out-of-doors would gather.
People chose not a church, but him rather.
Ben Franklin helped build him an auditorium.
The Words of Life flowed as water from him.

Franklin printed George Whitefield's sermons.
They were read; then followed with "Amens".
A call to 'spiritual arms',The Great Awakening,
Brought a change in America with no faking.

Men's souls did see the Lord with new eyes.
Ivy League Schools sprang up, no surprise.
True soldiers of Jesus Christ were trained.
Oh, Great Revival come again! Be our gain!
