Healing
Why did He spit on me?
The Bible tells us in (Mark 8:23) that Jesus spit on a blind man’s eyes.
The man wanted to receive his sight and and our Lord spit on him.
To the modern mind, this at first seems unkind and degrading. As a result of this act and Jesus touching his eyes with a healing touch the man was able to see. Although he did not see correctly at first it only took the touch of the masters hand to correct the problem. The man received what he wanted, so he was willing to be belittled and degraded by being spit on by the master. Jesus spit on him to prepare him for His healing touch. Are you willing to be spit on by The Master and be healed? In other words we may need to be humbled before the God of grace before we can be healed. This man was from Bethesaida vs. 22. Jesus later encountered a blind man from Jericho looking to be healed. (Luke18:40-42) He was healed immediately from the spoken word. He then encountered a third blind man that was healed totally different. Jesus spit on the ground, made mud and anointed the man’s eyes with the mud that was made from the spittle and sent him to wash in the pool of Siloam. (John 9:6) This man was made complete instantly after the wash
. Jesus’ way is always the best way even if it is not understood by humankind. He does not always do the same thing to accomplish the same result. If you want a touch from the master you must position yourself to receive it any way He sends it. Sometimes you have to do something ie (go to the doctor) and sometimes all you have to do is ask and miracously receive it instantly If you have to do something that seems belittling to you don’t let your false pride stand in the way of your blessing/healing. Cp (II Kings 5:10-14)KJV; “And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.”
If you ask a blessing of Jesus and He chooses to spit on you, it probably is because there are some hindrances that needs to be dealt with before blessing/healing can take place. Don’t complain just comply and be Blessed.
