Love One Another


As my husband and I are serving in ministry together it has been such a growing and fulfilling time for both of us. It has taught me a lot about the love of the Father and his compassionate care for us as well.

Gaetan not only is capable of ministering to the needs of others, but he firstly takes care of the needs of his household. I have been in ministry for over 25 years. I have witnessed men who call themselves servants of God, yet refuse to serve their own family. They are the first to jump when a need arises outside of the home. However, many times an apparent need goes unmet inside the home.

Last night, I had taken some new medication that had made me feel almost like I might be having a heart attack. Taking my blood pressure and heart rate I discovered that my blood pressure was very high and my heart rate was low at 45 beats per minute. This was one of the warning signs of the new medication as well. It appeared that it was reacting adversely with some of my heart medication. In my concern of the symptoms I began to get ready to go to the hospital. I had just had more dental work done on my mouth as well and it was hurting too. I decided to sit a little bit longer before racing out of the house. Gaetan placed his hand directly on my heart and gently prayed for God’s covering. Within a few minutes all the chest pain was gone and my tooth pain was gone as well. I looked up at him smiling. I told him that I had a warm feeling all through my back and chest and that my heart had stopped beating erratically. When Gaetan prayed for me he did not yell out loud like we see many people do. He did not cast out demons or make a big fuss over it. He simply placed his hand on me and spoke almost in a whisper as he lifted my need up to God.

As I sit here this morning, I have not had anymore pain in my chest or my tooth. I also slept very peacefully. There is no need to take the medication for pain that the doctor told me that I would need for a few more days. I am grateful for a husband that knows how to care for the spiritual needs of his family as well as others. The book of 1 John tells us this is how we should live our lives.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.
(1John 4: 7-9) NASB

When God uses Gaetan to minister to me it makes me love Gaetan more and love God more. So listen up men- if you want your wife to be madly in love with you - just spend time ministering to her needs. She not only will become the woman of God that you want her to be, but you will also benefit from the great love that grows between you and your wife during those precious moments of praying together. And wives, when your husband loves you enough to minister to you in your need, your naturally desire will be to minister to him to. So love one another as 1 John tells us to do. If you don’t believe me – believe God - because there is no other love like it!
