MANDELA- BEYOND AN ICON (A tribute)


Before the first advent of our Savior,
Existed types and shadows of Messiah;
Lamb and blood of the Passover;
Isaac caused and brought laughter.
His ‘sacrifice’ was a shadow of Christ’s ransom.
Animal blood-shed to cover man unwholesome,
Cloth of animal skin designed by I AM.
The ‘serpent’ lifted by Moses in the Negev;
“Look up to Me and be saved”.
Ark of Noah that saved a remnant.
The high priest and blood of sprinkling;
Types and shadows of Jesus All!
And now we await the Second Advent.
Believers all have lots to learn,
Awesome life of Mandela is great lesson;
Though said not to confess Christ,
Yet, exhibited much of Christ’s essence;
“Be Kind and compassionate”
“Forgive those who offend you”
“Blessed are the peacemakers”
“Love your neighbor”
“Love your enemies”
“Lay down your life for your loved ones”
“As I was persecuted, expect persecution”
A humble servant and a leader;
Melchizedek, both King and Priest;
Much exemplified in the great Madiba!
The second coming is for those committed,
Focused on Author and Finisher of Faith;
Receiving grace to endure and walk the talk;
All Departures look forward to Arrival;
As Jesus rained woes on Scribes and Pharisees,
May He not say of us “I knew you not”!
Surprises await many at the arrival!
May He count us worthy! Amen.
Most count Madiba worthy. Yes he is!
May the Lord count Him worthy! Amen.
‘Nelson’ sleeps and “I go that I may wake him up”.
Sleep well Madiba!
