“Thirst No More”
St. John 4:7-15 says there cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus saith unto her give me to drink for his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat. then saith the woman of Samaria unto him how is if that thou being a Jew askest drink of me which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, if thou knewest the gift of God and who it is that saith to thee give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him and he would have given thee living water. The woman saith unto him sir, thou hast nothing to draw with and the well is deep from whence then hast thou that living water? Art thou greater than our father Jacob which gave us the well and drank thereof himself and his children and his cattle? Jesus answered and said unto her, whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again, but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give them shall never thirst but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
My word to share is thirst no more. St. Matthew 5:6 says blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. Everywhere you look, people are dehydrated. They are dying of thirst because they don’t have Christ. Jesus came to give us the fountain of life that will never run out. The Lord is the living water, the ultimate thirst quencher. Nations are experiencing droughts and spiritual famines like never before. When you have Christ you can declare that the drought is over. There is no shortage in Christ because He came to fulfill.
People are searching high and low for something that will satiate their appetite so they try this thing or that thing but are still not full. Jesus says whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give them shall never thirst… Thirsting is a terrible state to be in. You become unable to concentrate or focus on the task at hand. It feels as if your organs are drying out with no end in sight. In conclusion, Jesus Christ is the only way. He is the beginning and the end of all things seen and unseen. He is the Creator, the Supreme Sovereign Ruler of Heaven and Earth and apart from him we are nothing. Jesus is the only one who can quench our thirst so that we will thirst no more. Amen.
