A quiet warning


Please don’t bring me flowers
After I have passed away
I want to spend my time with you
Enjoying the gifts you bring today
Our chances to visit will be over
After they place me in the ground
A lonely monument of stone
Guards over a grassy mound
It’s then you’ll kneel there mourning
Remembering the times we shared
And wishing there could be another chance
To show how much you cared
So please don’t take for granted
The gifts God gives you now
To hear a loved ones laughter
Or to kiss them on the brow
To listen to the words of wisdom
Given sincerely from the heart
For the day will come much too soon
When from this earth we will part.
