Encouragement
Everyone loves love stories. Everyone wants to know how two different people resolved against all odds to fulfill their love. We all love to see the first scene-where it all began; their eyes met: how their eyes sparkled, how they both stared at each other, when their fingers first touched. We all love the scene where one tells the other, “No matter what happens, I will always love you. Nothing can ever stop me from loving you.”
No matter where we come from in this world, everyone admires love songs. Everyone appreciates the love phenomenon. Why not? Because that’s how we were created. We were born to love and be loved. Every human holds a part in his or her heart which yearns to be loved. What can we say? Life without love is worthless.
There are lots of bestselling romance/love books seen on the shelves of many shops today. But the ultimate love story (which is non-fiction, by the way) took place even before the foundations of this earth. It all began when God decided to create man. He just did not create any being to worship Him but he created us in His own image and after His own likeness. Man was the very handicraft of God and his beloved masterpiece. Man meant so much to give that He had to actually breathe into man to give him life.
God adored man so much that He clothed him with His very own glory. He provided more he needed for him to live as comfortably as humanly possible in the lovely Garden of Eden. He even gave man authority and dominion over the very earth He had created.
When man disobeyed and was banished from his abode, God never stopped loving him. Whenever he slept, God watched over him. Whatever man needed to survive, God did not withhold from him. No matter how many times man strayed away, God never turned his face away from man. No matter how long man wandered away from God, God never gave up on him. Like the father of the prodigal son, He always waited patiently for him to come back. With arms open wide, he waited for man to come back.
For man’s sake, God had to sacrifice His only Son to redeem man back to himself. When God the Son left the heavens to dwell among men, he was mistreated by His very own creation. He was mocked, despised and rejected but His immense love for man urged him onto the road leading to the Cross.
For the sake of man, God abandoned his only Son on the cross. Because of God’s love for man, He had to die. With His very own blood, God paid the price for man.
Now that the price has been paid, God is still waiting to receive anyone who would come back to His love, man’s resting place. He loves man so much that He readily changes the filthy garments on everyone who runs to Him and clothes man with his original covering- His own glory. He fills man with His very Spirit and abides in man so they can become one- just like it was supposed to be from the very beginning.
This might be the most controversial love story ever to have happened and to be told but nevertheless, it undisputedly remains as the most powerful love story ever. One amazing thing about this story is that, it does not end. It can be yours too. All you have to do is to accept Him into your love and this will be your personal love story. Isn’t it heartwarming to know that the God of the universe loves you this much?
He is saying, “Dear one, I love you enough to give my all to you. Why don’t you just surrender yourself so I can restore you to your original place with me, in me and beside me?” Why don’t you heed to his call today?
