I miss you
   like I would miss the sun; 
      like I would miss
         the wild burning blue of the daylight sky.

I miss you 
   as I would miss my eyesight;
      as if missing the Grace of God.

You are not here 
   and I have almost become a life devoid of meaning. 
One day quickly becomes 
   forty-eight hours of grayness. 
You are gone
   while I almost seem to fade away,
      with the Lord sustaining me, 
         maybe even for your sake.

Who are you to me but simply
   a vibrant color in God's variegated Grace. 
So I wait for you 
   like I wait for my breath,
      like I wait for His mercy.
