John 15

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.




Dearly Beloved,

Have you ever felt as if you needed just a little help to make it through your day, your marriage, your job, your relationships, your bills, and your life. It seems as if some divine help would ensure that we make it through another day. We certainly do not want just any one's help but we need help from the Lord. We are branches trying to bear fruit without being connected to the vine. That's why it seems as if we are all alone on this tedious journey because we are trying to make it on our own education, our own abilities, our own finances, are own understanding...but the scriptures warns us,"that we should not lean to our own understanding but to acknowledge God in all our ways and he shall direct our path." The above scripture text allows us to understand that trying to survive without God is like a branch trying to bear fruit without abiding in the vine. Genesis chapter 1 verse 22 states," And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” The bible clearly states that God wants us to be fruitful and multiply...therefore God wants the believers to do more that just survive...he wants us to thrive...even in this economy! Since God has command us to be fruitful and multiply...God, can I get some help? ..... God is a presence help in the time of need. Therefore, to get the help we need from God we must abide in the vine...how does one abide in the vine? I am glad you asked. Jesus Christ is the Vine and the word abide means to to remain; continue; stay; reside and to dwell. The above text allows us to understand that the branches can not bear fruit without abiding in the vine and neither can you or I bear fruit (be prosperous,have all our needs met)unless we abide in the Vine (Jesus Christ). Abiding in Christ is to stay in relationship with him, be prayerful, study the word, fellowship with the saints, attend church and be lead by the Spirit of God...in other words stay connected. The scripture declares,"for without Me you can do nothing." God wants to help you.....so get reconnected and abide in the vine.
