Evil Friends-Who are they?
We often hear this phrase, “with friends like this who needs enemies”. It’s so true but how can we identify them before we fall a victim of their wicked devices? It’s a challenge but if we are aware of certain traits then we can see it coming and safe guard ourselves.
Unfaithful Friends
1. Lead you away from God (Deut.13:6-9) When they say don’t go to church, why do you read your bible so much, let’s go to a strip club or forget about God He’s not interested in your problems if He was you wouldn’t go through these things… are just some of the foolish comments that will try to steer you away from God.
2. Unfaithful friends will take your wife during domestic quarrels. It happened with Samson (Judges 14:20)
3. They will gossip about you (Prov.16:28)
4. They will bring up old mistakes during an argument to demean you (Prov.17:9)
5. They will abandon you when you’re in trouble (Job 19:14)
6. They will betray you (Psa.41:9/ Matt.26:48-50)
Evil Friends and Relatives
1. Will encourage you to use, manipulate and commit an act of rape (2 Sam.13:1-5)
2. They will deceive to get their agenda accomplished (2 Chron. 18:1-34/ mainly 29-34)
3. They will betray you during extreme persecution (Luke 21:16)
4. Joining evil friends will result in the destruction of business plans (2 Chron. 20:23-37) It’s prohibited by God to go into a business endeavor with an evil person (2 Cor.6:14-18)
Prideful or Arrogant Friends
1. Will suggest a foolish idea without weighing the facts (Esther 5:10-14)
2. Will change their opinion quickly and abandon you (Esther 6:13)
Unwise Friends
1. Can flip from being a comforter to a negative critic (Job 6:14)
2. Can turn from mourning to murmuring against you (Job 6:27)
3. May go from feeling sorry for you to firing scorning remarks (Job 16:20)
4. They can immediately denounce your character without proven facts (Job 17:5)
5. They can be intimate one minute and yet detest and turn against you because they can’t figure out why you’re in a crisis situation (Job 19:19)
6. They need to be taught how to have greater pity and mercy toward the poor and afflicted (Job 6:14/ 19:21)
7. Unwise friends can easily be snared by over extending their financial credit or resources by acting in irresponsible ways that could lead to poverty (Prov.6:1-3)
8. Note: There’s a balance between generosity and good stewardship (Prov.17:18)
9. An unwise friend is not necessarily an out-right enemy they just unwisely made a foolish error. Job encountered his 3 unwise buddies and at the end of the day when God spoke to Job and Eliphaz. Eliphaz had to bring a sacrifice to Job and Job was to pray on behalf of his 3 friends so God’s anger toward them (for their misrepresentation of God) can be forgiven. (Job 42:7-10)
Under-minded Friends
1. Tend to use your strengths and resources to advance themselves, position, influence, empire or corporation for the purpose of security, wealth and control (2 Chron.18:1-34)
2. Tend to use your finances to partner a business endeavor. So they won’t take the full lost if the business fails or falls bankrupt (2 Chron.20:35-37)
3. Link up with you because of your wealth and influence (Prov.19:5)
4. Under-minded friends avoid the poor, the helpless, and needy. They tend to be very self-centered (Prov.14:20/ 19:17)
5. They are sneaky, selfish, greedy, manipulative, and stubborn. They care only about themselves and will use God’s blessings and people for their ill-willed desires (2 Chron.18:1-34)
Teachers Note
I want to give you some insight about teaching God’s word. It’s important that you understand that the same scripture can be used over-and-over to point out further revelation there’s always a lot of meat in one verse of scripture and more that can be drawn from it. So when I use a verse over-and-over I’m not redundant I’m digging into the verse deeper and deeper.
This method of teaching is what separates the Men of God from the child of God in regards to anointed teaching. We need to dig deeper. Paul said it this way For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God (Read 1 Cor.2:5-16)
I pray that this information may turn into revelation and it will become inspiration to make the proper application so you can experience the manifestation of God’s blessing. Meditated on this!
