Years ago, before I knew deep down how very much my Abba Father loves me as His own precious daughter, I went through a time of deep depression. During this time I worked at a medical device packaging company. I remember one particular day when the despair and hopelessness consumed me. The monotony of the job wouldn’t help, but I needed the money to pay my bills. “I’ll just have to get through this day, somehow”, I determined. As I as put on my lab coat and hat and entered the packaging room, I reached for a bag of catheters to package. When I picked-up the bin, a label I’d seen at least hundred times jumped out at me: “ACCEPTED”! A Bible verse I’d memorized long ago popped into my mind: “HE made us ACCEPTED in the Beloved.”) (Eph.1:6NKJV) Suddenly I realized, like these catheters that had been inspected by Quality Control, and had been found worthy of an accepted sticker, I too had an accepted sticker on me. Not that I had done anything on my own nor was there anything inside of me to deserving of acceptance. It was just that God had sent Jesus to die in my place, so that I could be accepted by God. The feelings of hopelessness and despair were a lie from Satan. I’m not hopeless or in despair if God loves me that much!
Someone did and still does love me!! Enough to die for me!! All I had done was accept the gift of salvation. It was as though God put an accepted sticker on me. What’s even more amazing is God’s good pleasure to adopt me as His daughter (Eph.1:5)!
