UNDERSTAND WHY!


It's hard to understand why we are so different
You dress different
You smell different
You walk different
You even paint your nails
and adorn your body with ornaments
You are different!

I have spent a lifetime living with you
and i still can't work out why we are so different
You like different music
Enjoy different food
Dance with such strange movements
Speak in a language I seldom understand
Yet you hold my hand
You stand by me
You protect me from others
In sickness and in health
For richer, for poorer
But I still don't understand why we are so ddifferent
Yet we love each other so deeply!
So strongly!
Living each other's differences
TOGETHER!

MY WORDS SING OUT


My words sing out
They shout
They signal the freeing of my spirit
They release my inner most thoughts
They celebrate my joys, my toys, my boy
They speak of long lost days, faint in summer haze
They delight in successes
They revel in achievements
They crown my glorious past

My words sing out
They shout
They shout with angered sorrow as our today
ruins their tomorrows
They cry with deep felt hurt as we destroy the joy which years of togetherness have created
They decry the hatred between friends
friends no longer seen again
but seldom forgotten
They weep with a parent's pain as young lives are llost through the soft summer rain
yet it happens over and over again

My words sing out
They shout
They plead for change
They whisper for justice
They sob for the sorrow of past indiscretions
They ask for forgiveness
They pray for salvation
My words sing out
They shout!

Creativity for me
Is a world in which I am free
Free to think
Free to question
Free to dream my dreams
To fly
To sing
To cry

Creativity for me
Is a world in which I am free
Free to draw a red square on the back of a green high-chair
Gel my hair
Dance without a care
Show flare
Share - my world with you so free

Creativity for me
Is a world with you, just you and me

Creativity for me
Is a world in which I am free
Free to speak with my voice
Use my words
Saying those thoughts
Allowed so free
Which describe me
My world
My dreams
My thoughts

Creativity for me
Is a world in which I am free to grow!

I write because I have to, it allows me to communicate in a few words the feelings, thoughts, ideas that others take full novels to explore. I have been blessed with the ability to precis the world to a few words, or maybe I'm just lazy. I hope these poems inspire you to have a go, sit back, close your eyes and then write whatever pops into your brain, it works for me.

May God guide your words and help you spread the Good News of His mighty creation.
