My heart may be breaking,
My body be aching,
My mind be dazed and confused-
But all of these feelings
That set my life reeling
Are just plots to keep me from you.

For satan’s great desire
Is to quench my heart’s fire,
By filling my life with distractions.
All he really has to do
Is keep my mind off You,
Then sit back and enjoy the reaction.

Dear Lord, grant me blinders
And daily reminders
Of where my focus must stay:
Never looking left or right,
Keeping You in my sight,
And waiting on You day by day.
