What I'd really like to say
Would change the way I feel.
What I leave unsaid,
Makes it easier to breath.
If I knew the words
To make it go away-
I would sing them clear.

So I open my eyes,
Shut down my brain
And just for a moment
Only God remains
And that was all I needed
That was the surrender
In the making of what I wish
I was.

Tomorrow I'll hit the pavement
I'll make my three miles
But in between a strive for a connection
I'll make it through
These trials.

People are seldom what you expect
And never what you thought they'd be
And I have come to face the fact
No person can rescue me-
I've been rescued.

If I'll but say the words
And let fall repentance from my lips
I'll realize my prayer life
Is about more than me.

It's my father far away,
My mom doing her best
It's family and love
Struggle and rest
And if I stop my complaining
I will see that I am blessed.

I want to be a writer
I want to sing my songs
I want a big, neon sign
To say where I belong
I'd like to not want anymore.
What brings us to this place?
What becomes of faith?
When we fall on our face
Maybe that's how we learn
To fall on our knees

So Lord hear my prayer
The lights are dimmed low
It's time to admit
What You already know.

Maybe if I confess the crimson
I can obtain forgiveness and grace
Erase the bloody marks
By covering them with Yours
Washed clean and white
Loved in your arms.

So I'm single and I'm lonely
So I 'm far from home,
At home-
Where I started from.
I'm learning and I'm leaving
And I'm never quite sure when to stay
More often than not, it's me that gets in my way

But I'll trust what You say
I'll follow Your Word
I'll pray for my family
And those in this world
Without You.

You are fairer than the heavens
More precious than truth
Rarer than pure, undiluted sincerity.
You are love and You are justice
You are mercy and grace personified
And I lift my hands
My shattered plans
What this world demands of me
To You.

There is safety is submission
Freedom in trust
And I hope I won't forget that this time.
I must belong-
I belong to You, Oh Lord,
And You are mine.
