Staring at work on my square piece of sky, anticipating the adventure before me,
A new life was beginning.
Embarking on a journey to a strange land, all I knew I should be doing for the ones I love.
What was new awaited us there, all that we knew would be laid aside.
In this excitement of being so sure, a little voice frightened, questioned once more....

Father, in all that You're giving us now
Why is this one thing left on the shelf?
A precious life, that You gave us to cherish
An orphan of Yours, who's love we so relish.

A home we could give her,
Her life You did spare
Now I must leave her...
My hearts in despair

I TRUSTED You Father
To find her a home
It was bad enough having
To leave her alone

I KNOW You can save her...
Maybe You won't?
Did I look hard enough?
Maybe my fault?

It could be a sign
That I really should stay...
But ALL that You've shown
Points to going away?

SO WHY is it Father
With the power in Your hand
This life I must offer...
For my children to stand?

I can't see the way
Time, has now run out
Tomorrow the last day...
There is no more doubt

I'll DO IT my Father...
I'll put her to rest!
I'll do what you ask
I Know you know best...

Dear GOD PLEASE
I'm not sure I can
I love her so much...
But I'll try make a plan

'Dear child, I must say
I know how you feel...
I've been down THAT way
This is what I reveal...

I loved my children SO much that I too
Had to sacrifice something, just like you do
I wanted their lives to be joyful and new...
And with all MY power...I chose to go on
You talk of your cat...
I talk of MY SON!'

I knew I must do it
I had to move on
I had to get on
With the job to be done

I made the appointment
For the next day...
'Grant courage tomorrow...'
I prayed as I lay

Early next morning
Before I arose
My cell phone was calling
I reached as I dozed

'Hello', I said faintly,
Remembering the day
A voice came back gently,
'Can I come round that way?'

'I'm sorry I couldn't
Call you last night...
I HOPE you still got her!'
The voice said in fright

Mt sweet little cat
Purred by the phone
She knew that SHE soon TOO...
Would be going home.
