The hush isn't there
In the night anymore
The lull of the ocean's
replaced with a roar

The star light's behind
The street lights that blind
The quiet space filled
With thoughts through the mind

The sound of the wind
The birds gentle song
Drowned by the replay
Of all that's gone wrong

The tyres that screech
Your wifes nagging speech
Burn through your soul
Like those people that preach

You lay in your bed
Pillow over your head
Your red blood instead
Feels like whispering dead

You hear the sounds
In your heart as it pounds
And you tighten your chest
As you're trying to rest

You sigh quickly out
Then slowly back in
You listen to hear from
A voice from within

You open your eyes
Then you close them again
You're sure you just heard
The starting of rain

Sleep comes back in
Fades back away
You're dreading the light
That comes with the day

You listen again
To the sound of your breathing
Hoping to calm you
Settle the wreathing

The tightness is tighter
You chest now heaving
Your mind is spinning
Feels like it's leaving

You dream dreams of screams
Your soul writhes and dies
Losses, betrayals
Flash past your eyes

Your spirit within
Touches feverish skin
Tries to reach out
Tries to touch on some thing

In the nights messed up hush
Your hearts blinding din
Is the hand of your Father
Squeezing within
