Lights! Camera!! Action!!!

We’ve read the script.

We know our lines.

We have been surrounded with a great supporting cast.

We’re in ‘tight’ with the Director/Producer.

Life is a Hollywood production … and you’re the STAR!

Well, at least there are many in faith out there who fall into that ‘trap’. So many feet are walking the walk of a ‘show’ … the skills are turned on when there’s an audience, but when alone … it’s like the camera has been turned off.

And now, the award for the most self-righteous goes to …

Whether a product of uncomfortable circumstances and God gets the blame … or a smooth sailing lifestyle that breeds complacency, both circumstances often lead to an empty theatre. You’re not a hit at the box office, as God is reading your heart, not to mention … as the Director/Producer of what’s bound to be a block-buster; He knows when we are putting ‘butts in the seats’.

Ultimately, out of all those we can fool … there are always two who can’t be. That would be God and yourself. None of us can act THAT well.

The truth is, well … we have the script … and all we have to do is follow it. The scene has been laid out before us. Stick to your unique and specific part. Don’t stray and try to fill a part that has been cast to another. Accept the role that you’ve been cast for and thank God for it.

CUT! The first take may not have been a good one. You may get an opportunity to run through a scene again, but the film itself is a one shot deal. There is not going to be a sequel.

We are called to put God First in all things ... include/involve Him in all the features of your life. Let’s face it; the film of all of our lives has a little bit of everything, doesn’t it? Action! Adventure! Animation! Comedy! Drama! Horror!! Mystery! Romance! Suspense! Thriller! All uniquely designed to propel us to become the star He planned for us to be … to deliver the ‘performance’ of a lifetime, not to be duplicated.

We are not even the ‘star’ of our own film … that title belongs to the Director/Producer. We get to be the co-stars of His film about us. No red carpets. No Emmys. Give the credit to the Director/Producer … and He will see that we get.

Live your faith as if the camera is always rolling. You are under constant watch, from both the Director/Producer … as well as all those who get to watch your film. You may get an opportunity to run through a scene again, but there’s not going to be a sequel.

Wordplay: If your life were a film, what would the title be? Mine would be, “Been There, Done that … Twice!”
