Encouragement

Going through any kind of hurt, sickness, or trial is never easy. Even emotional ones are not easy. No matter what you are going through, whether it is health related, emotional, financial, in relationships, or spiritual dryness, God is always there. He will never leave you to handle it on our own.

When going through struggles, there is usually a time of despair and discouragement that just seem to come along with that. We have to be aware of the enemy’s strategies and be able to stand against them. Keeping our eyes on the Lord and not our circumstances, believe me, I know, that can be very hard. The Bible says, in Isaiah 40:31, As I wait for the Lord I shall change and renew my strength and power; I shall lift my wings and mount up; I shall run and not be weary, I shall walk and not faint or become tired. We are able to pick ourselves up and shake ourselves off in the name of Jesus Christ. We have been given the power and the tools that we need to take authority in Jesus name.

For some, they get to a point where they just can’t even pray. Their situations are so severe that they can’t seem to utter the name of Jesus. That’s where we come in, as the body of Christ; we are to encourage one another. I make it a practice to please my neighbor for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him. Romans 15:2. We are to intercede for those who have reached their lowest, so that they have the strength to reach up once again, take the hand of Jesus who will bring them to their feet, and replace them to the place where they can be strong again. To be revived in their spirit to continue the plan that God has for their life.

One of things laid on my heart, that I really did not think about until it was me, in that position, was to do a kind gesture for someone we know is in a battle of their own. My daughter came in with some beautiful earrings for me. Being sick for more than a week and being down physically, spiritually and emotionally, she saw that in me. My heart was filled with joy that she had taken the time for me, to stop by and pick something up to put a smile on my face.

I want to do that for others. Maybe a card, a flower, a phone call or txt of encouragement. Maybe, even some earrings. That small gesture meant the world to me. It has crossed my mind many times, the need to do that for another, but I was so busy in my own world that I did not listen to that precious still small voice. Now I will. See I have learned in life, that God always has people who will stand in the gap for you, when you are too weak to pray on your own. I want to be one of those people. He also has people who will make the extra effort to be a comfort to someone and put a smile on their face in some way. I want to be that person.

The gesture made a large impact on me. It has moved me to listen to that still small voice and want to do the same for others. Maybe in doing so for them, they also will want to do the same for others and many lives will be impacted all because of a beautiful pair of earrings.
