Church, it’s time that we take a two by four and strap it to our backs and get a little bit of a stiff backbone to us. In today’s society, if we decide to stake a claim to our belief, or even shine a small light of friendship on others, we are told to back off for we are now offensive. “Under God” as part of our pledge is offensive to some. Displaying of our belief, offering a prayer or a kind word, or even taking a stand against the things of this world is enough to bring about cowardly lawsuits and attempts to stifle us in one way or another. I for one have had enough and will not tolerate it any more. You see, standing up for God is not an option, it is mandatory. When Moses came down from the mountain with the tablets we know as the original ten commandments, he came down to people praising and worshiping a golden calf and shaming themselves before one another and this world. In anger he called out for those that were on the Lord’s side and the Levites answered the call. As a result, God used them for execute judgement upon those that had led the people astray. He even came against his own brother Aaron for not restraining the multitude of the nation of Israel. As a result, God’s anger was abated and those that brought about the calamity were destroyed from the midst of the congregation.
Because fo their zeal for the Lord and for His work, the Levites were then chosen by God Himself to be set aside for the work of the temple, to literally become the priests and servants of the most high God. Of the three tribes of the sons of Levi, the Gershonites camped on the west side of the tabernacle during the Exodus. The Merarites occupied the ring closest to the north side, and the Kohathites occupied the south. Aaron and Moses were descended from the Kohathites through Amram, and their lineage directly were called to be the priests before God and they occupied the camp in front of the eastern gate. The very nature of their work warranted that they be zealous for God, and willing to be pleasing unto Him. Today, God is calling out looking for those that will stand up for him against the moral decay that is decimating our society.
Who will dare to take a stand against sin, even if it doesn’t fall under the category of political correctness? I can assure you, many will ridicule and yes, even try to silence you when you take a stand for God and against sin. I wondered in recent times about the stand of many of our denominational leaders coming out in stand against decency. Zell Miller made a wonderful speech of the decline of decency in our nation, and yet we heard little or nothing about it. The Catholic Diocese of New Orleans, along with those from St. Louis, have issued decrees to all politicians and leaders that side with abortion proponents to not take Communion, for they will not serve those that go against the idea of sanctity of life. Oops, wait a minute here, did a Pentecostal preacher just side with the Catholic Church? You can guarantee that I did, and I will stand proudly with those that stand for the cause of Christ and strive to protect the sanctity of our homes.
Florida, according to one recent article, is one of the few states that does not allow adoption right to homosexuals. They also do not allow domestic rights in many situations to those that live together. While there are many things going wrong in this world, there are also many good and right things still out there, and to God I give the glory for that. No, you will not always agree with me, and that is quite all right. I only have one person that I will have to answer to one day and that is the same maker that you will have to stand before. I would rather face Him doing all that I can for Him than to be silent and perhaps find someone in hell because I would not speak out. Instead of cleaning out the closet, we have those coming out of it, and trying to shove it down our throats. Won’t work, have Father’s Word on it. Sexual immorality, liars, perversions, abortion, people leaving the natural use of their bodies to pursue others of the same sex, and those that condone these in the church will find their road block. Without Christ getting in to the picture, we can do nothing. We must acknowledge our dependence upon Him, for without Him we would probably all be in the same boat headed for destruction. Listen up, friend. You need Jesus to change your life. I need Him daily to change mine. Take a stand for Jesus, irregardless of your background and circumstance, and you will have the prayers and support of this pastor and many others like me that do not agree with that life style but still remember what it was like to live in sin. He delivers us daily and He can and will do the same for you. No excuses.
As a closing note, I do not know of one time when the doctor came in and said to the parents “Congratulations, you now have a brand new baby homosexual!” Do not give me the excuse that you were born that way. Not proven. If so, the before mentioned would occur. God can and will cure all that come sincerely into His path. May God bless you.
