The Beauty of a Day

I got up this morning feeling rather blah. It was a quiet morning, so I went and sat in my favorite spot to relax a minute. I like to spend a few minutes with Lord and just tell Him how much I love Him. When I’m working, it is usually a little talk with Jesus on my way to work. I am truly going to try to start taking time aside for the Lord in the mornings and not just fitting Him in on the way. This morning I decided to check my facebook. I looked over it a little and decided to leave an update. This is what I wrote. “Trying to get the blahs today. No reason to be blah. I am so blessed and God has amazing things in store for me. I will control my thoughts and not be negative today. Just need to spend some time with Jesus and let Him change my outlook, because when I get on my knees, I never come up the same. So going to spend some time with Jesus, so I can have an incredible day.”

I went to my room, got down on my knees and started praying, I ask God to help me have a good day, to help me get things done, to help me to organize, because my house was a wreck. I asked Him to help me make wise choices in my eating, to bless my husband, for the Holy Spirit to lead me, and then I heard in my spirit. “Your day is not blessed by where you go or what you have planned for the day. Your joy in your day comes from Me. It comes from what you do with Me. It is in the relationships you have with others. It is in the words of love, comfort, encouragement. In giving, helping, sharing, just loving. Also, in the beauty of a flower, a sunset, the things that I have created for your enjoyment. Think on those things! WoW! WoW! WoW! “

I could never come up with that on my own. My flesh is selfish. My spirit is so hungry for God. My spirit knows this is true. He is the truth, The Way, and the Life. No man come unto the Father except through Him. Life can be hard, painful, boring, never ending struggles and worry. With God, come all the incredible things in life like, love, laughter, joy, peace, comfort, beauty and happiness.

My soul longs to hear the things of God. My spirit longs to be in His presence. The flesh gives me a battle. My days have to start out with the Lord. I want the abundant life. I want an outstanding, extraordinary life. I want to see the beauty of the Lord everyday and I want to share it with others. I can’t do anything without the Lord. From this day on, my life will change. It has been revealed to my heart and spirit how to have a life of joy and not just the blah of everyday living. I am going to search out the joy of each day through my devotions, learning about my Lord through His word, spending time with Him and my family, friends and Christ centered activities. Just soaking up anything to do with God.

I will also look for the beauty that God has created for us. I tend to rush by the beautiful flowers or pay no attention to a sunset or a rainbow. I will enjoy them and see them as a gift from Him to enjoy. The birds and the little rabbits that run through our yard, the tree that sway and remind me that we are like a tree, planted by the water that sway to and fro but does not break from a storm because it is well rooted. I will not see my journey the same way. See it really is true. When I hit my knees, I never come up the same. I am changed. Thank You Jesus.
