A philosophical question to ask indeed! Maybe you might be asking yourself the meaning of this. Allow me to explain wh. I was sitting by my computer wondering what I should write about and this question flashed across my mind. So I decided to follow it through and see how far it would take me.

I discovered that God is asking the same thing to us today, He is seeking for a relationship with a people He created for His glory. He begs and cries out to us to see what it would take for us to set aside time for Him and His kingdom. "Seek Ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness..." is the universal cry. Are you ready to answer the call?

The basis of the question has to do with the element of commitment to the Kingdom of God. For a minute close your eyes and take this journey. In the realms of the Spirit is a God seeking a worshipper who will worship Him in Spirit and truth, one who will recognize His Sovereignty and respect Him as the Creator. But what would it take for Him to get such a one as this?

The Sovereign God has to be understood first as the God who holds our entire being in the palm of His Hand. We need to recognize that without Him we are nothing, just a microcosm in the universe without impact and without relevance. Once we get through that phase we need to turn our attitude to Him and be sold out for Who He is and what He can do for us.

What would it take for one to know God for who He is and what He can do? It would take a God Chaser. Tommy Tenney wrote a book about God Chasers. One statement that stood out for me was that it would take a God Chaser to be a God Catcher. It means one has to give their all to seek the Presence of God and submit their lives for the cause of the Cross. The writer of the Chronicles gives the passionate cry of God to the people of Israel, "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face..." He was in fact posing the same scenario as posed by the question.

What would it take to be a God Chaser? It would take a heart after the Presence of God, a heart like the one that David had, a heart that forsakes all to pursue the one tha made it. It would take a pursuer to find the heart of a loving God, so great that heaven and earth cannot contain Him, yet so Big enough to stay in our hearts.

The God Chaser has to leave all and seek to find the purpose of God. Like Moses, the God Chaser has to come into contact with the ways of God and not His acts. We need to get familiar with what God is doing. The more we seek His Face the more we discover His thoughts and purpose and the more we recognise that He is the God of the universe.

As you ponder this question over and over, why not ask yourself what it would take to follow hard after the Heart of the Great One of Israel, the Universal God who has become one with us today. Maybe this article has been of use to you or has stirred up a certain emotion deep within you. Why not follow up your heart's cry and seek Him while He may be found. Be like David and cry out to God:

O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my body longs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and Your glory. Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You. I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise You. On my bed I remember You; I think of You through the watches of the night. Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.
