Poetry
Lord, as the old year comes to an end
and we step into the year of 2010,
please guide our feet in this new place
and cover our path with your grace.
As we close the door on the old year
we give thanks for all that we hold dear.
Last year’s struggles we leave behind
and enter the new year with a new mind.
Father, we can’t see the road ahead
so we’ll keep our eyes on you instead.
Guide us through every bend in the road,
and help us carry our heavy load.
We confess that we know not the way
Lord, walk with us throughout each day.
Hold our hands and keep us close
for we know not what the future holds.
Give us faith to believe what we cannot see
and strength to endure what ever will be.
May your presence be with us this year,
may our hearts be calm and know no fear.
Lord, grant us clean hearts and sober minds
so in this new year our lights will shine.
Help us to grow in love and walk in faith
and may you show us favor each new day.
