Ever wondered what you and I would have been if it wasn't for a night like that of Christmas when in the quiet and still, yet unrecognised town of Bethlehem a star shone on a stable to signify the greatest birth to ever affect humankind?

Ever wonder where you and I would be if it weren't for the grace that sent a King to live among slaves to promote them to a higher rank? It takes a clear heart to stop and think about the things that have made us a different people.

Over 2009 years ago our lives changed because God had made up His mind that we who live today would not be affected by the death that had overcome sinful nations in the entire earth.

This festive seasin is time enough to stop and think what we would have become were it not for God and Jesus Christ who gave up Kingship rights for a 33 year encounter with humanity.

Coming from a nation sanctioned and shut out from the rest of the world, we have lived to see the Hand of God unite people who were at war with each other, seen a God who made enemies share joyful moments together, seen a God who turned a hopeless country into a hopeful people and seen the love of God draw multitudes to Himself.

We stop and think of the goodness of a great God who sent His Son to a people who had not known or recognised Him and made them who were nobodies to be people of valour.

While the world goes through a recession, it is those who fix their eyes on Jesus who can run the race with a clear focus that at the end all things will work out together for good to those who have been called to run. 2009 has been a year never to forget because through it all we see the great God turn our great setbacks into opportunities for greater grace.

So as you read through this piece just take a long look at who God is and what He has done
