ACTS 16v25-34
At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns. An earthquake came and shook the prison foundations. Suddenly all the doors opened and everyone’s bonds were unfastened/loosed. The jailer asked, “What must I do to get saved” (cf Acts 2v11)

NOTE
- Worship in its power changes circumstances
- It brings about confession
- It brings about salvation
- It will cause the Name of Jesus to be lifted up

Worship caused the status quo to change
• Enthroned beings recognised their inferiority when God took His place
• Enthroned beings surrendered their crowns and declared Jesus, the Lamb, as the Ultimate being
- God appreciated in value
• The crowns of gold were cast before His Throne
• Glory, honour and power were ascribed to Him
- Heaven revealed secrets to the earth
• The scroll with seven promises was exposed and then revealed
- Rank was recognised
• John wept because no one was found worthy in all heaven, earth, under the earth and sea
• The Lamb was the rightful one who could open, look into and read the scroll
• The Lion of the Tribe of Judah took His place
• The Root of Jesse sprang up and the Conqueror was revealed
- A new song was birthed
• It was started by the elders, picked up by the angelic host and eventually taken up by all creation
- Worship was ceaseless
• “Amen” was followed by worship not silence

In the end we recognise the following
1. Worship exalts God and subdues every enemy
2. It breaks bondages and liberates people
3. The standard of worship has to be raised always
4. Heaven and earth respond to powerful worship
5. Worship ultimately reveals the glory of God
