Father

My bird, my world breaker,
My support, my feather shaker.
I wish that your strength may remain,
And that you’d push me through the pain.

You push me off the nest straight down,
So I might chase the future’s sound.
Keep your strength so I won’t drown,
For a new world I’m sorely bound.

Outside my shell that thou doth break,
The tools are given for my sake.
I pray for you, please keep your strength,
Which masses to a giant length.
Even when you’re gone I’ll know,
Your love of old will always glow.

I pray that your strength may always stay,
Till’ Jesus takes you home one day.
So push me for the world ahead,
Not deep inside my shell instead.
