On June 2000,I was with my family to a Christian meeting ,Suddenly we
heard a noise and people started running.
The whole place was in a chaos,religious fanatics were killing
Christians,I ran towards a tree and climb and hid under the leaves.And
ROMANS 10:11(All those who believe on HIM shall not be put to
shame).Dead bodies lay around me,I looked around for any body still
alive,members of my family were all scattered.I couldnt locate any
member,over house lay in ruins.
Thinking all my family were dead,the next day at the camp,where we
are all rushed to,there I met my entire family members all UNHURT
!,oncemore re-united,with a total belief and faith stronger in GOD and
Jesus Christ.
That with God all things are possible ! ! and HIS children will walk
through the shadows of death and comes out UNSCATHED
At the camp,where we all converge ,after escaping the pogrom
unleashed by the Muslims fundamentalist against the Christian
community in Kaduna in June 2000,my father on seeing all his family
unharmed broke into tears of joy,right there we had a prayer
session,and give thanks to God Almighty for sparing our lives,quoting
form JOB 11 V 16 "You will forget your misery and remembers it as
water that have passed away".
In the name of religion Human Beings have perpetrated the most
abominable atrocities against their fellow creatures,After staying in
the refugee camp for about a week,we were asked to go to our
respectives homes,as adequate security measures have been put in place
by the State government,my family was given an armed security
personnel to escort us,On getting to our house,the entire
neighbourhood lay in ruins,the Car in the compound,the Pets,the
House,and every other thing in it were burnt,NOTHING,ABSOLUTE NOTHING
! was left out in the orgy of destruction unleashed by the riotous
madness of the Muslim fundamentalist (FANATICS) on the family
property.
My father instead of being dejected,smiled and said"He who believe
on HIM shall not be put to shame"ROMANS 10 V 11.The other member of
the family were taken aback by my fathers comportment.It is indeed a
challenge,like Caleb said in the Bible"GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN",The
family broke into songs of praise,Where does the family go from here
?.My father said it is by providence that ,the family left for
Christian Prayer meeting and were not at home ,when the riotous
Fanatics came calling,What would have happen if the Riotous
fundamentalist met the family at home ?
For this singular act,my father decided to devote the rest of his
life to serving God,The family solicit for financial assistance to
enable us pay our way to Makurdi,Benue State,North Central
Nigeria,where the family temporarily put up at my father's friend
house,It was like a movie better imagine to real,the experiences and
the trauma.We were back to the scratch,homeless,loosing everything,but
my father planted faith in us.
After the relocation,My father left his job and enrolled in a
Seminary,and on leaving the Seminary,he has been deeply involved in
Spreading the GOOD TIDINGS !Ephesians 4 V 12-13."To prepare God's
people for works of service,so that the body of Christ may be built
up,Untill you all reach unity in the faith and in the knowlegde of the
SON of God and become mature,attaining to the whole measure of the
fullness of Christ"The family were bless by my fathers challenge,and
the family put Faith and Trust the Living God and His only begotten
Son,Jesus Christ.
