I have a box of colored pencils
to draw pretty pictures new...
but all I seem to want to color
are the words I LOVE YOU!

A picture's worth a thousand words,
many believe this saying is true...
but to me three words say it all,
my joy is that I LOVE YOU!

Galleries are full of pictures,
and every one is just fine...
but the picture of you that's in my heart,
is the one I think is sublime!

I'd paint lovely hearts, fireworks of joy,
flowers in colors so true...
but still the best I want to give,
is my own heart saying I LOVE YOU!

I am not much of an artist,
I'm not able to paint landscapes and mountain views;
but still every day is a masterpiece of art,
simply because I spend it with you!

So I'll not try to be what I'm not,
but show you in ways ever new...
that love's a gift, the very best one of all,
and oh, how much I LOVE YOU!

My paintbrushes are the words I say,
the colors all the things I do...
and every day there is a glorious new picture
of joy in how much I LOVE YOU!!
