“Yes, folks, this is the TV show where siblings challenge each other in culinary contests. I'm your announcer, Kevin Keller. I hope you watched last week when the Grove sisters battled in our kitchen with wedding cakes. Natalie and Nancy thought they were the best cake baker in their towns, but only one was right.
“For those who missed it, here's Nancy's winning almond cake. Look at that marzipan wedding couple on the cake!.
“Viewers, today our rivalry is between twin brothers who both think they make the best pizza .
“Ladies and gentlemen, Here are today's sizzling siblings: Giovanni and Giuseppe Bartucci!
“Yes, folks, they're identical twins. But rumor has it they haven't spoken to each other in 15 years. Those venom-filled looks seem to confirm that. Before we begin, let's meet these men's mother, Anna Bartucci!
“Mrs. Bartucci, thanks for coming. Please tell us why your sons haven't spoken in 15 years”
“Ah, my foolish boys. They grew up so close. But when my Guido went to heaven, neither could stand to have the other be head chef. They fought over Guido's pizza parlor. Eventually, Giovanni moved to Lakeville, while Giuseppe stayed in Riverview. They haven't spoken since that day.”
“My, that's some story. What would you like to say as they begin their contest?”
“Sons, I love you both. I've prayed each day for 15 years for God to dissolve your stubbornness and allow you to reconcile.”
“That will never happen,” snarled Giovanni.
“That goes double for me,” sneered Giuseppe.
“Well, the gauntlet has been thrown It's time to start our competition. I give you the Sizzling Sibling Rivalry between the Bartucci Brothers!
“As always, we've kept the ingredients from the contestants until today. Gentlemen, you'll create your finest pizza using ...pineapple, prosciutto and provolone. Ready, set, cook!
“Ah, the intensity on both faces as they begin. Giovanni has his dough in the air, and... so does Giuseppe! Folks, it's like a mirror image. These men move in almost identical gestures as they work. But - what's this? Mrs. Bartucci, why are both your sons pinching their pizza crusts?”
“They learned that from my Guido. He always coated his fingertips with garlic butter and pinched the crust. He claimed it made the dough taste special, and both my sons have always done this.”
“Well, we'll soon have a chance to see how that works! Mmmmm.. it smells wonderful! I'm sure the judges can't wait to get a taste of these pizzas!
Ahh, look at those pizzas, folks! Why, they look almost identical! Who do you think the winner will be, Mrs. Bartucci?”
“Kevin, I won't root for either of my boys over the other. My only wish is that this would somehow bring them together.”
“Ah, look at the judges' faces! They look like they've been transported to pizza heaven! And the deliberation has begun. Now, our head judge is walking over with the envelope. And the winner is...
“Folks, the judges are unanimous. These pizzas are so much alike; they can't declare a winner. For the first time on Sizzling Siblings, we have a tie! Let's get our competitors' reactions. Giovanni, what about the judges' decision?”
“I cannot believe it. Surely my pizza is better than that... upstart's pizza.”
“Well, those are harsh words, Giovanni. What about you, Giuseppe?”
“I cannot believe it either. How could our pizzas be alike?”
“Because YOU'RE alike, you fools!”
“Mama!”
“Mrs. Bartucci!”
“I do not care. I care only that the judges have told the truth. No matter your feelings, sons, you are twins. Exactly the same, just as your pizzas have been found to be. Please, can't you see this? For your Mama's sake?”
“Well, what do you say, men?”
“Ahh... perhaps she is right. What do you say, Giuseppe? Shall we make peace, for Mama's sake?”
“Well, Giovanni, for Mama's sake.... I suppose.”
“Oh, my boys! Thank God! This is an answer to prayer!”
“There you go, ladies and gentlemen! Our first tie score, our first reconciliation - and a very happy Mama Bartucci! That goes to show that reconciling siblings on this show can be... as easy as pie! Pizza pie, that is.
“ So, tune in next week, when Charlotte Martin will confront her brother Charlie...”
