Scattered puzzle pieces,
Like seeds carried by the wind,
Unique and many sided
Looking for a place to fit in.
The Creator’s divine picture,
Like a mirage, vague, dimly seen at first,
Takes shape, as the Church begins
Praying for clarity and purpose.
The straight-edged piece,
Like a house built upon the rock,
Provides a firm foundation
Keeping the structure grounded in truth.
The four corners,
Like a triumphing fire will bear the news,
Gifts apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastor-teachers
Equipping believers for works of service.
Every piece important—big or small,
Like kindred drops mingled into one,
Comes together united
Joining in where needed.
The big picture, sometimes forgotten,
Like a ship without a sail,
Trusts in human intellect
Forcing the wrong pieces into empty spaces.
God’s master plan,
Like a broken vessel restored to wholeness,
Puts together all the pieces
Filling what’s missing with His peace.
