Swallowing villages, people drowned,
Devastation came--some were sleeping
Now with them the world is weeping.
Debris-destruction-death-despair
Poisonous fumes pollute the air,
Yet in the midst there’s bended knees
Brokenness cries out to Thee.
Were they ready--those now gone
Will they sing with heaven’s throng,
Loved ones grieving, left behind
Needing hope in tragic times.
Like stiff-necked ones who followed Moses
We oft forget Who loved and chose us,
God calls to us though we may wander
Time’s a gift we shouldn’t squander.
Foretold birth pains getting stronger
Too much, too wrong, so how much longer,
Is it too late to turn the tide
Change our ways, cast sin aside.
Repenting hearts, each beats anew
Believing that His words are true,
Yes, there is life beyond the grave
For those who trust in Him who saves.
When final breath is drawn on earth
Agape love grants souls rebirth,
Each tattered soul finds rest with Thee
Where Your light shines eternally.
