Okay, you did it-- you brought on the tears with this one. A sad, yet sweet story. Great job.
I can relate to your MC. Your story took me back to my teen years when I was faced with the same decision. You did a wonderful job telling this story and reminding pregnant teens that there are options out there that are in the best interest of all involved. Every case is different but it's nice to read a story about the difficult choice of adoption.

You brought tears to my eyes with this. Your writing expertly conveys the agony of that decision, and being a grandmother myself, I could so relate to the grandmother holding that first grandchild and then having to give it up. The mother's love for the baby, in wanting the baby to have a mother and a father is so poignant. You have a beautiful story here. I was so moved.

Powerfully done. My heart hurts for Kayla.

I think you have a winner here.
Congratulations in placing 25th overall!
