In Egypt’s bondage, beat and broken
God’s people cry in sad despair;
From burning bush the answer’s spoken—
The Lord God heard the peoples’ prayer.

He gives to Moses his commission
To go and set His people free;
If Pharaoh will not give permission
Great plagues and judgements He’ll decree.

By mighty hand is Pharaoh humbled—
The Red Sea swallows all his pride—
His life is lost, his empire crumbled—
God’s people safe on the other side.

Through Moses God gave holy precepts—
They all would prosper who obeyed;
In heart they longed for Egypt’s concepts
And turned from Him to gods hand-made.

The rescued nation didn’t heed Him;
Their bones lie parched ‘neath desert sand;
The lure of Egypt stole their freedom
They’d never see the Promised Land.

We too, have had our bondage broken,
Have known His might, have seen His hand;
They turned from words through angels spoken—
We have heard from the Son of Man.

Excellent writing and powerful message. The Hebrews indeed heard from angels, but did not heed. Today we have heard from Someone greater than angels and therefore we are even more accountable. This powerful warning is presented in perfect poetry.

It was easy to read, very simple to understand. God's word was simply given, and simply received by man's ears. You allow any reader to understand the power of God. thanks!
