I love the idea of putting on the sunglasses. Very good piece. I love how you took me to the mountains.
How blessed the narrator was with a mother to weave the message of God's forgiveness into the leaf color. You've shown a very special relationship through the mother-son dialogue. You have some great description, but my favorite line was "driving into God's glory."
Great descriptions. I especially like, "Each leaf moved, somehow on its own and in concert with the others at the same time. The leaves of one tree waved at those of the neighbor, and each subdivision ebbed and flowed. States and regions made their remarks in interpretive dance, and the entire nation of a mountainside reveled in movement, together and opposed, small and large, a heavenly mix." Well done!

Beautiful! And thanks for the reminder that God speaks the language of tears.
