Like no other bygone age;
Could modern media moguls use
Their wiles to advocate their views
To cause our minds to disengage?
Sleek news presenters so well versed
Bedazzle us with many ‘facts’;
What if their ‘truth’ was all rehearsed
Their ‘facts’ with fiction interspersed?
Reality could be hijacked.
An audience can be transfixed
By high performance artistry;
By craft and genius intermixed
The best and smartest can’t resist
From being convinced to some degree.
How can we then avoid being fooled?
There are sure facts beyond dispute
If in God’s Truths you have been schooled,
Opponents must be overruled—
Don’t let the ‘wise’ His Word dilute!
Current affairs should be discussed
In the perspective of the Word
They are a ‘sign of times’ to us
And should not trouble or nonplus
Despite this world where truth is blurred.

“There’s nothing new beneath the sun”—
‘Gainst vain philosophies defend
The news that no man can amend—
God’s grace and truth’s in Christ the Son!
