the clay begins to sag,
the potter simply stops the wheel
takes the clay into his hands,
and the potter kneads the clay
then starts the wheel to spin again
and makes a fresh new thing.
Better yet it would have been
to have been obedient in the Potters hands,
to have been His first design; but merciful is He
to grant a second chance to be
and He’ll do it every time!
So if you’ve missed your first chance,
the second and third one too,
just now, rest yourself in His hand
He’ll make you be all new again, but
He will not throw the clay away.
He only waits for you to yield yourself to
Him so that, as only He can do, He
will make your life all fresh and new.
Jesus is the Potter; you and I
are the clay. It’s so comforting to know
He never throws the clay away.
So why are you waiting? You want
brand new start, which to you is promised
when you ask Jesus into your heart.
