Set aside His kingdom's throne
To be sent to earth bound places
For the ones He'd call His own
Son of God, each soul's Redeemer
Taking on a world of strife
So the ones who would receive Him
Could have grace and truth and life
Son of God, who walked among us
Healing illness of all kind
And to all who would receive Him
He gave peace to heart and mind
Son of God, pure love among us
Knowing well the awful price
That to purchase freedom for us
He would be the sacrifice
Precious King, whose life bled for us
Falling into earthly sod
So each one who would receive Him
Could be called a child of God
And receive a place in glory
Clothed in robes of purest white
And their names be clearly written
In God's kingdom Book of Life.
