BECAUSE JESUS SAID “ IT IS FINISHED”
In Jerusalem, during the month of Easter, as Christians meet, they greet one another proclaiming proudly “AL MASSIH QAM!” indicating, “CHRIST IS RISEN.”
They will get this reply:
“HAQAN QAM” meaning-- He is Risen Indeed.
What a glorious proclamation for the greatest Victory in the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ!
My dear friends, why is there so much joy contained and enjoyed in the hearty celebration of Easter? Why the very important commemoration? Why the passion and the unequal happiness that fills the hearts while crowning the atmosphere with exhilaration, at the mention of Christ rising from the dead?
It is marking the greatest fatherly love and forgiveness to the world from our glorious Creator---only through Salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ his Son .
It is because of God’s fixed love granted with Christ’s sacrifice, which no one can take from us. For thus was it fully pre-arranged and willingly granted to the whole world as an
incomparable gift for the pardon of the sins of the human race.
Romans 32:8 (KJV) “He that spared not his own Son but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? ” It is God’s greatest contribution “HIS OWN SON” given to us generously as He laid down His life being punished exceedingly in our place. Why ? For the salvation of our souls from hell !
But first, we have to repent and confess our sins personally to God, to merit the full gift of Eternity with Jesus.
In the late seventies, our first visit to the Holy Land with our two children Tony and Magda, was at Easter time. God, very graciously sent us one of the most wonderful Christian guides. He was called Ishag, meaning Isaac, a most faithful man of God. As he took us around in his van, he elaborated on the glorious and intricate beauty of the Resurrection with all the fullness of the Holy Spirit. When he explained each location of the life of Jesus on each event of the Bible, we all felt the great presence of God.
Ishag shared this fascinating story of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ because of the fact of His rising from the dead. Ishag narrated:
“During the Easter week, an old Israeli Bedouin shepherd, who was ninety years old, had intolerable chest pains. His Christian neighbor called for help after praying over him ‘in the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God-who rose from the dead to heal him’….Miraculously, the Bedouin was healed from a massive heart attack. As he was taken to his tent he said to the neighbor : “My friend , you have prayed over me, I also heard that Jesus died and rose again to heal me. PLEASE. Before you leave me, tell me how I can be like you and love Him like you –as you say he loves me”
There and then, Christ heard the words of that healed Beduin, as he heartily prayed for forgiveness as he welcomed the Lord Jesus into his heart and life …HALLELUJAH…AMEN.
