The Lord spoke first, “Gather close everyone. We have a special moment before us. A new prophet is being invited to come work for Me.”
Ziggy, one of the newest angels to Heaven’s ‘Call the Prophet’ team, got all excited, “Yay! I want to help. Can I help? Please? Please?”
The other angels grinned. They were moved by Ziggy’s energy.
The Lord smiled at Ziggy, “Sure you can my friend!” Then, looking at the whole group, “Now, I want to create a certain setting for this one. I really want this message to get through loud and clear.”
Ziggy, being inquisitive, asked, “So who is the guy being asked to answer Your call?”
“His name is Isaiah. Now, I want to use the big throne from the main room. It needs to be set in a clearly visible place.”
Ziggy’s mentor, Chip, answered, “No problem Boss! We’ll lift it up very high.”
“Great! We’re also going to unfold the train and let it fill the temple.”
Chip thought to himself, “Oh man! Every time we unfold His train, it takes days to fold it back up.”
“I heard that Chip!”
Embarrassed, Chip responded, “No worries Lord! Train filling the temple … You got it!”
“Wonderful! Next, I want to enlist the Seraphim corps.”
Theo, the head Seraph quickly stepped forward and militantly replied, “We’ll be ready Sir! Besides being visible to Isaiah, is there anything specific You’d like us to say?”
“Just recite your daily worship calls. That will do.” Theo nodded, saluted, and then quickly flew away to get ready. The Lord turned back to the group.
“Now, when the Seraphim start their worship, their voices will shake everything … doorposts, walls … everything. And then, Ziggy, now your part comes.”
Ziggy started jumping up and down, “Yes! Yes! What’s my part?”
“I want you to run the smoke machine.”
Everyone stood silently. That was a very important job and usually only given to senior angels.
Ziggy stopped jumping. “Really? You want me to run the smoke machine?”
“Yes I do! I know you’ll do great.”
Inspired, Ziggy stood up very straight and replied, “You can count on me Sir!” Just then, Theo returned with a report.
“All the Seraphim are ready Sir.”
“Good. Now, once the vision gets going, wait for a response from Isaiah. When he responds to the vision the right way, take a piece of coal from the altar and touch his mouth with it.”
Theo, looking confused, “How will I know what the signal is?”
“You’ll know. If you have any questions, ask Me. But I’m sure when the moment comes, you’ll know it.”
“Understood Sir!” Theo again saluted and took his position. The Lord addressed the rest of the assembled crowd.
“Then, I will speak, asking for someone to go and work for Me. And then, we’ll wait for his answer.”
Ziggy looked up and wondered out loud, “Will he answer ‘yes’ Lord?”
“That’s up to him. Let’s watch and see. Places everyone!”
Back on Earth, Isaiah was praying. He then saw the Lord on a throne, high and lifted up, and His robe’s train filled the temple. Above stood seraphim. And one cried to another, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house filled with smoke.
Isaiah cried out, “Woe is me, for I’m undone! I’m a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.”
Theo knew that was his cue. He flew to Isaiah, having in his hand a live coal which he’d taken from the altar. He touched Isaiah’s mouth with it and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.”
Isaiah then heard the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?”
All of heaven became hushed. Ziggy, looking on, said anxiously, “Come on man, you can do this. Don’t blow it.”
After a few moments, thunderous applause erupted as Isaiah looked up and replied … “Here am I! Send me.”

Very clever, and I particularly enjoyed the interaction with God and all of His workers in heaven.
Isaiah's last line was the perfect conclusion to this delightful tale.
