A little marijuana seemed innocent, hardly a sin
She would stay in control, never losing her soul
To addiction, destruction - ignoring convictions within
She was beautiful and smart, longing to be part
Of the partying, fun-loving, jet-setting crowd
Oh, glorious path, leading to pain and wrath
Dancing with death concealed in a shroud
The dance marched on, to a beguiling song
Marijuana led to drugs of the harder kind
Thinking she’s in control, protecting her soul
As drugs devoured, destroyed her body and mind
Needle stuck in her arm, no need for alarm
Ravings, cravings, selling her body for a fix
Thinking she’s in control, won’t sellout her soul
The dance of denial keeping her locked in bliss
Beauty long gone, feeling lost and alone
Dancing the dance like a puppet on a string
Trying to find her way back, get on the right track
Scared, snared, tangled in chains, wandering
Completely sold out, to drugs no doubt
Another song, another dance but faint memories
Who’s willing to care, for the girl in the snare?
Dancing out of control, crying to be free
One heard her cry, for her He did die
His blood, His love flowed from Calvary
His words simple and true, “I did it for you”
“Come my child, I’m all you need.”
She continued dancing on, to a different song
Set free, liberty, beautiful once again
Giving Him control, freed her captive soul
Fulfillment, contentment in dancing with Him

Good message and way to use the challenge word!
Compromise and then sin is a slippery path. Those rescued from such a life are some of the most inspiring believers that I know.
Good subject, well written, well done.
Cheers Kel
