Because of Your righteous judgments.
Psalm 119:62
… 11:54 p.m. …just six “moments” before The Rapture.
“Ladies and gentlemen… [applause, cheers] North America has voted, and in just a few minutes… [applause, cheers] we will know who you have chosen to be the next North American Idol! [thunderous applause, cheers] Right after this break.”
“Oooo, I can’t wait!” exclaimed Ann, as she jumped up and walked into the kitchen area to get some more melba toast. She muttered, “This diet is killing me, though. I’d rather have some pizza right about now.” Ann returned to her favorite chair.
“Amen to that.” Beth agreed. “I’ll take some melba toast.” Beth heartily crunched into one of the crackers, using her free hand to try to catch the crumbs.
“Soooo….Beth, who do you think is gonna win?”
“I dunno.” Beth answered with melba toast in her mouth. She swallowed, and added, “ I really don’t know. But we’ll find out in just a few minutes.”
“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’
Matthew 25:6
… 11:55 p.m. …just five “moments” before The Rapture.
“I’m sorry Beth, I just don’t have time. I have to be to work in just a few minutes; then I have to go shopping, make dinner, do laundry—oh and get a little sleep, too.”
“Awww…come on Ann, we all have to do those things. This is important. I need you to teach this Bible Study with me. My cousin really wants to meet you, too.”
“I’m sorry Beth, not this week. I’m really sorry. No time.”
“Okay, but.. I’m gonna ask you every week until you give in.”
“I love you Beth.”
“I love you, too, Ann; but I’m concerned about you.”
“That’s why I love you.”
Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning—
Mark 13:35
… 11:56 p.m. …just four “moments” before The Rapture.
“Hi Beth!”
“Hi Ann, where are you?”
“I’m on my way to work.”
“As always.”
“Very funny.”
“What’s up? I only have a few minutes.”
“Beth, could you please pray for me? I just got a TXT that there is gonna be a big layoff at work today.”
“I will, but you know, Ann—”
“I know, Beth… I can pray, too. I just need to take the time.”
For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
1 Thessalonians 5:2
… 11:57 p.m. …just three “moments” before The Rapture.
“Beth, can you please deal another round of cards? It’ll only take a few minutes.”
“Ann, I’ve been meaning to tell you something.”
“Okay Beth, what’s the big secret?”
“Maybe God took your job away so you could focus more on Him; your job almost became an idol in your life—it took all your time away from Him. Now you seem cold…distant to the Lord, and the Bible.”
“Yeah, well, I don’t have time for all that Bible non-sense anymore. I’m too busy lookin’ for a new job.”
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
2 Peter 3:10
… 11:58 p.m. …just two “moments” before The Rapture.
“Ann, it’s so good to see you here, we missed you so much.”
“I’m so sorry, Beth. Please forgive me for being so mean to you.”
“Wow, to see Ann back in church—this is a miracle moment.”
… 11:59 p.m. …just one “moment” before The Rapture.
“I’m reading from the New King James Version, ‘For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.’”
Ann added, “Then it says, ‘Therefore comfort one another with these words.’ I’m so glad I’m finally in this Bible Study with you and your cousin, Beth.”
“We need to be ready.”
