I’m not sure what I heard;
You want me to give all I own--
How absurd!
Lord, do you know that
I’m richer than most?
Don’t you care I’ll lose what I love--
How morose!
Lord, did you hear them?
The crowds praise my name;
If I become poor they’ll declare
What a shame!
Lord, please speak louder,
Did you really say “share”
And I can’t store my treasure—why?
How unfair!
Lord, did I hear wrong,
My gold’s not enough?
I need to surrender my will--
This is tough!
Lord, can you tell me,
Are my ears working right?
I’ll be blessed if I give—but please,
Not tonight!
Lord, you must know that
I love my life here;
But life-love means losing, you say--
How severe!
Lord, do you promise
I won’t be alone
Through the eye of the needle and
The unknown?
Lord, I believe you;
You’ve opened my eyes;
Your truth is treasure—how unlike
The world’s lies.

Still I liked this one. It's easy to see through the eyes of this person. Problem is, when the Lord speaks to "me" He wispers.
