Of running free on hills of green:
He dreamed of rolling down the slopes,
The joy of sprinting without care;
And laughter flying like a robin,
A girl with flowers in her hair…
But one dream stood above the rest:
A pretty girl in a violet dress…
A teenager once had a dream
Of challenging the mountain peaks:
He dreamed of scrambling up the heights
And tasting of the sights untold;
The bliss of climbing through the sky,
A girl who gave her hand to hold…
This one dream stood above the rest:
A pretty girl in a violet dress…
A youth turned man once had a dream
Of dancing in the moonlight beams:
He dreamed of swaying to the music
The blending of two hearts can make;
And ecstasy in silver halls
As sleeping beauty’s now awake…
The one dream towers o’er the rest:
Her beauty in a violet dress…
The man now grown sees dreams come true,
Beyond my dreams, God’s brought me you!
Our laughter flies like robins,
We find sheer bliss in tasting sky!
We dance to music made by hearts,
And live by love which God provides…
I see each day how I’ve been blessed,
With a lovely wife in a violet dress…
