And though we’re bruised
we won’t be crushed
You promise in Your word
Why struggle to stay afloat
This blackened boiling sea
When I can hear
Your voice calling
“Dive deeper into Me”?
Treasures of Darkness
Secrets to share
Whispers of lovers
Wait for me there

If God is light, why darkness?
Why chaos, Prince of Peace?
I can’t let go
and dive into
The blackness of the deep
“Where can you go without Me?
Not even to the grave
I am with you
I can catch you
Let go and you’ll be saved”

I’m swallowed by the darkness
But I won’t be afraid
I cease to fight
Embrace the night
And sink into the grave
I hear no voice but Jesus
I see no face but His
Black is white
With Him in sight
No fear or hurt can live
