Only for seconds did I gaze upon this miracle before closing my eyes again,
But it reminded me of Your power and the moon’s obedience to You.
My heart takes rest in the warmth of Your powerful love.
Morning comes dressed in splashes of glorious gold, blues and greens.
Walking, I relished the freshness of Spring with all my senses.
Budding flowers, a bird’s a capella song, and distant mountains dusted still with snow,
My heart burns with appreciation of the awesome splendors formed by Your breath.
Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. . . (NIV)
Cold winds come that threaten to distinguish my heart’s flame.
Someone dies, disappointments are delivered, bitter or hurtful words pierce my being,
Enticing my spirit to dance the deceiver’s waltz.
My heart shivers in my woes.
Foolishly I forget my armor today and am weakened by doubts, despair, discouragement.
My hopes are derailed by the train of defeat--the engineer’s slithering smile wounds me.
Icy thoughts fill my head, building walls that extinguish relationships once dear.
My heart’s flame flickers in the frosty air.
1 Peter 5:7-8 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you. Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour. (NLT)
Ah, a new dawn brings hope through a perfect birth, unconditional love, and forgiveness.
My heart remembers a sanctuary, my mind recalls a Son’s life for mine.
A warm breeze beckons me back to where my soul finds peace.
My flame burns hot again in His love. And I know joy.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (NLT)
