Like a vine dotted with flower petals
Like sprinkles on an ice cream cone
Prayer flags; lung ta; "Wind Horse"
Blue, white, red, green, yellow
Sky, wind, fire, water, earth
Elements of creation
Torn fabric waves in the wind
Carrying goodwill and compassion to all space
Purified prayer cloths spread blessings in the wind's breath
Rows of flags, strung on an angle
reach the peaks of the Himalayas
But where do these prayers really go?
They are whispers of hope, blowing in the breeze
To a god who doesn't answer
The bright colors can not catch his attention
The prayers wait in empty space
The patter of wind taps the flags
Knocking...
But if they seek the truth,
The true God will answer
He will carry the burdens that the flags can not hold
The unheard prayers of the "Wind Horse"
Old flags are replaced with new flags
As the prayers remain
But if they are replaced with
Pages of God's true word
They won't disappear
They will be heard
Blue, white, red, green, yellow
Heaven, righteousness, atoning blood, evelasting life, grace
Elements of true salvation
