She was laying there face down in her bathroom floor sleeping in her own puke. As she was drifting off to sleep, images of the street corner hounded her mind and she thought, “Oh no, in a little while I will need another fix and I just don’t have the energy to go back out there”.
She did not have one friend in the world. She use to have a few friends, but somewhere between the drugs, alcohol and all that street life, she had lost them. Darkness was the only thing she had to light up her life. The dark side started at age 14 at a high school dance, when one of her so called friends offered her a marijuana cigarette.
She was not stupid, she was addicted. She knew that the drugs she was addicted to ruled her life. She got up early in the mornings just to shoot up. She would go anywhere or do anything just for enough money for her next hit.
Relief of another kind always preyed on her thinking. Thoughts of death and another world would surely relieve her from all this turmoil. The last thought she had before that deep sleep took over gave her a false sense of satisfaction. She said in her mind, “I must stop this ride so I can get off”.
Later that same evening on the 28th day of August 2008, she drove her car to the nearest overpass, left her little dog, her purse and her cell phone in the car and walked to the middle of that busy overpass and jumped off.
Bits and pieces of her body were scattered all over highway 94, she had been hit by traffic all evening. The drivers thinking that she was just another dead deer did not stop to investigate the matter. They just kept hitting her over and over again.
My mind goes in circles as I think about her. As a matter of fact she is on my mind everyday and I know that if she had found God in time, she would still be alive. Had she dared to wait another hour, she would have heard these words as she stepped out of her car to die, “God is the answer to all your problems; seek him while he can be found”!
I sat there listening to the evangelist at that tent revival. His voice rang through out the tent and escaped out into the air of the early night. The tent set just adjacent to that overpass where that poor woman had taken her own life. The whole neighborhood was lighted up with police cars as they were directing traffic around that deadly scene. They were searching for bits and pieces of her body scattered along that busy interstate.
I was thinking about that lady as I heard the evangelist finish that sermon. He said, “God is the answer to all your problems; seek him while he can be found for in him there is light even in the darkest night. You might think that you are at the end of your rope, but I know a man who can catch you as you fall and answer when you call. His name is Jesus. The truth of Jesus and his love enlightens, heals and cures in every situation”.
So often I think about the Christian population and question myself, “Do we do enough to drag them back from the pits of a devils hell”? Are we guilty of being quiet thinking we might offend someone?
If there ever was a time for us to speak out for Jesus, now is the time. A great many of our younger population are destroying themselves with drugs, sex and alcohol. We must give them help and Jesus is the only answer.
We, as servants of the Most High God must get down to business and start spreading the gospel of Christ.
I dare you to spread the truth of Jesus Christ as you walk the narrow path.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

However, I don't know how the two scenes tie in together. I think sticking w/ one or the other would have been more powerful.
The stories sort of left me hanging in that neither were really resolved.
But, I state again, the message is powerful. Polish it and you have a winner!
We need to try to rescue all this generation who don't know God!
This story is just one of a few that happens in a lot of our neighborhoods.
May God Bless us and give us courage to spread his truth in the highways and byways of life.
May the Son always shine on your pathway.
