bliss,
lives intertwined,
love shared,
new family member formed.
From announcement to arrival,
basinet,
clothes,
diapers…
beaming smiles.
caring looks,
dreams of the future.
Fear and anxiety
extinguished with excitement,
overwhelming joy!
Sharing the anticipation…
as one,
planning,
praying,
preparing!
Soft skin,
sweet smell,
innocent eyes,
tiny fingers and toes,
happy smiles,
heart melting giggles!
Never to be a reality,
no choice in the matter,
not in God’s plan for her life.
Such joy only for the single
and barren woman to observe.
Looked down upon by many
in God’s family…
a half person,
lacking purpose,
unworthy of acceptance.
But not beaten down.
Rather looking to the One
who is what she will never be…
a parent.
Looking to the Father
who leads her,
loves her the same
as all of His children.
Regardless of others’ opinions,
clinging to compassionate Creator,
eyes fixed on her Father,
drinking in divine plan,
seeing herself as He does.
Basking in her Father’s love and devotion,
knowing she’s eternally His.
Listening,
unwavering in resolve
to obey and follow Him.
Rejoicing in singleness,
content without children,
looking forward to the future.
Although she will never be a mom,
she will always be His child.

There's a sense of inner strength in the face of harsh reality - something we all need in great measure when life doesn't turn out the way we expect.
This woman is a blessing. :-)
