I don’t know much about Canada
Except there’s some great people up there
They say the winters can get very cold
Best be prepared for that frigid air!

They’re not quite British nor Americans
Just a little bit in-between
Still they’re my good and godly neighbors
Even though their land I’ve never seen!

I’ve seen pictures of their beautiful cities
Like Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal
And Edmonton is a sight to behold!
When the sun sets over it’s buildings, tall.

The greatest show on earth is in Canada
Called an aurora or ‘the northern light’
Glorious colors dance across the night sky
Some say it’s where heaven and earth unite

There are some beautiful rugged mountains
And blue lakes as clear as glass!
It’s the largest country besides Russia
With the greenest, greenest grass!

They have some strange holidays in Canada
After Christmas there’s a Boxing Day!
Does that mean everybody takes up boxing?
Or is it just one more day to play?

Then they have Thanksgiving in October!
I always thought that was a little odd,
Everybody knows Thanksgiving’s in November!
Doesn’t matter, still they’re thanking God.

I’ve met quite a few folks from Canada
Some in person, some from FW sight
Most all of them I consider family….
After all, they’re my brothers and sisters in Christ!

My only complaint is referring to us as "godly." Several years ago, Canada officially declared itself a secular nation. As a Canadian and a believer, that broke my heart. However, I thank you on our behalf, for all the other lovely sentiments.

I'm ready to go visit. I have a friend there, too. Would love to see Shirley in person! Oh man...
