Stood up from the table
Walked out the door
Thought to myself
What did I come out here for?
Searching for my glasses
Or this book will go unread
Walked pass a mirror
HAH!! Perched on my head
My keys, My keys
Where did I put my darn keys
Up on a ladder
Down on my knees
Searching my whole home
For those precious little things
I know I sat them here
Did they grow wings?
Am I getting old
Or just losing my mind
I’m losing things
That were easy to find
I sat back in my chair
Wondering what else did I forget
I’m not old, not crazy..not yet
I scanned my heart, my soul, my mind
Where all hidden treasures are easy to find
Where I keep God’s word
So when I forget
Holy Spirit reminds me
Then I live correct
I sat there quiet
Not thinking
Trying to listen
Slow down he said
You’re racing like a rocket
Pray for peace and patience
Take your time
By the way
Your keys are in your pocket.
