Paul admits that there is really no such “Law in the Church.”
We thank you Brother Paul for that confession.
Some of us are unable to grow long tresses, and if we did try, it would be anything but beautiful and not much of a covering.
All women are concerned about their hair and so, Cosmetology is a lucrative business. Cosmetologists can change our hair color, straighten it, curl it, cut it, braid it, and sell us wigs, but they cannot control the growth or growth patterns of our hair, nor whether the hair is composed of three layers or only two.
Many of us do purchase and wear wigs. Most celebrities wear wigs for their often photo ops and appearances, because it saves their natural hair from over-processing damage.
Let me state up front that I do not call wigs “wigs.” I call them Hair Hats. Are they not a hat of hair?
I think it smart to own one, even two hair hats for several reasons:
1. A Hair Hat is a blessing when you need to go somewhere in a hurry and there is no time to “do” your hair.
2. A Hair Hat is wonderful for rainy days.
3. Since 35% of body heat is lost through the neck and head, a Hair Hat helps the head to conserve body heat on cold days.
4. Hair Hats actually pay for themselves, because trips to the Cosmetologist are not as frequent.
My Hair Hats are the same color as my natural hair. When I wear a Hat I pull my own hair around my face from under the hat and then blend it into the hair on the hat. What is then visible is my hair growing from my scalp, looking very natural.
Now you may wonder how I manage to be a Christian truth teller when/if someone should ask me, “Is that is your hair?”
With all honesty I reply, “Yes.”
Because it is, you see, I paid for it. It is mine.
Some gals have thick hair that can we washed and styled and one week later every hair is still in place. Some grow fine hair that won’t hold a curl all day on a sunny day. Hair Hats are the equalizing factor between us all.
On a natural basis, our health status and eating habits contribute to the quantity and quality of our hair.
Certain medications prescribed to us cause loss of hair, as does vitamin deficiencies, and yes, genetic factors play an important role in hair growth.
But the fact remains, we do not all get the kind of hair that supports the “in” look of the day, or that suits our own preferences.
So, for gals and guys:
Don’t fret, if you didn’t get
the hair you’d loved to have grown,
just buy a Hair Hat and wear it proudly,
a Hat of Hair that’s your own.
